Prayer For The Election Of
Government Officials And For Citizens
Thou, O Christ, Sovereign King, hast given men the authority
to govern through Thy excellent and inexpressible might, that
we may know the glory and honor given to them by Thee,
and be subject to them, in agreement with Thy Divine will.
Thou hast given to the people of this nation the privilege
of electing those who would exercise that authority which
comes from Thee. Grant, we beseech Thee, wisdom,
prudence and counsel to the people of this nation
that they may elect officials whose administration will be
conducted with due respect for virtue and religion,
with a faithful execution of the laws in justice and mercy,
and by restraining vice and immorality.
We recommend likewise to Thee O unbounded mercy!
all our brethren and fellow citizens, throughout this nation,
that they may be blessed in the knowledge, and sanctified in the
observance, of Thy most holy law; that they may be preserved
in union and in that peace which the world
cannot give; and, after enjoying the blessings of
this life, be admitted to those which are eternal.
Amen.
O Most Blessed Virgin Mary,
Mother of Mercy,
at this most critical time, we entrust the United
States of America to your loving care.
Most Holy Mother, we beg you to reclaim this
land for the glory of your Son. Overwhelmed
with the burden of the sins of our nation, we cry
to you from the depths of our hearts and seek
refuge in your motherly protection.
Look down with mercy upon us and touch the
hearts of our people. Open our minds to the
great worth of human life and to the
responsibilities that accompany human
freedom.
Free us from the falsehoods that lead to the evil
of abortion and threaten the sanctity of family
life. Grant our country the wisdom to proclaim
that God's law is the foundation on which this
nation was founded, and that He alone is the
True Source of our cherished rights to life,
liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
O merciful Mother, give us the courage to
reject the culture of death and the strength to
build new culture of life.
Trusting in your most powerful
intercession, we pray,
Remember, O most gracious Virgin
Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled
to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought
thy intercession was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, we fly unto thee,
O Virgin of virgins, our Mother. To thee do we come,
before thee we stand, sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not our petitions,
but in thy mercy hear and answer us. Amen

This website is dedicated to our Lord and
Savior, Jesus Christ. All our efforts to assist the Church,
to inform Catholics about the moral precepts of the faith and our
obligations as citizens to vote responsibly, we solemnly offer to
the greater glory of God and for the salvation of souls. We
beseech the Mother of God, Blessed Mary most holy, to intercede
for us all as patroness of the Americas, to protect our republic
and our liberties, a sublime gift of our Almighty God. St.
Thomas More, heavenly patron of statesmen and politicians, pray
for us.
TE DEUM (Hymn)
You are God: we praise you;
You are the Lord; we acclaim you;
You are the eternal Father:
All creation worships you.
To you all angels, all the powers
of heaven,
Cherubim and Seraphim, sing in endless praise:
Holy, holy, holy, Lord, God of power and might,
heaven and earth are full of your glory.
The glorious company of apostles
praise you.
The noble fellowship of prophets praise you.
The white-robed army of martyrs praise you.
Throughout the world the holy
Church acclaims you:
Father, of majesty unbounded,
your true and only Son, worthy of all worship,
and the Holy Spirit, advocate and guide.
You, Christ, are the king of
glory
the eternal Son of the Father.
When you became man to set us
free
you did not spurn the Virgin's womb.
You overcame the sting of death,
and opened the kingdom of heaven to all believers.
You are seated at God's right
hand in glory.
We believe that you will come, and be our judge.
Come then, Lord, and help your people,
bought with the price of your own blood,
and bring us with your saints
to glory everlasting.
V. Save your people,
Lord, and bless your inheritance.
R. Govern and uphold them now and forever.
V. Day by day we bless you.
R. We praise your name for ever.
V. Keep us today, Lord, from all sin.
R. Have mercy on us, Lord, have mercy.
V. Lord, show us your love and mercy;
R. for we put our trust in you.
V. In you, Lord, is our hope:
R. and we shall never hope in vain.
